I feel like I need to know a lot of things before I start working on a technical tool/software etc to avoid mistakes. Is this an unproductive attitude?

It’s probably down to not wanting to look like a fool, but also to ensure I deliver a project reasonably well, and maybe also because I don’t entirely feel at ease with software these days especially in an enterprise environment where there is layers of other complexity.

It ends up sucking a lot of my personal time because I have to learn.

Is this an uproductive attitude? How do you approach using new software/tools in live projects?
